About this project
No Horse Run is an independent academic project exploring Singapore 4D and TOTO results with data, statistics and a healthy sense of sanguine humour.
An educated perspective
People often talk about “hot” and “cold” numbers. Those ideas are intuitive and alluring, but we show the statistics behind why they are usually not worth considering. We monitor and discuss about this.
AI-derived insights
We use AI as a research assistant to help explore questions that many of us have wondered about but haven't had the time to test out. It's easy to dismiss ideas with "it's all random", but we run the experiments to properly quantify and demonstrate how most ideas do no better than chance.
Numbers into stories
While looking at historical results, we sometimes notice whimsical details worth sharing: a curious streak, an unexpected coincidence, or the story behind a number. We hope those observations are entertaining as well as informative.
A few things we want to be clear about
- We do not encourage buying lottery tickets. Lotteries are an inefficient way to transfer money, and there are better uses for your time and money.
- Nothing here is a prediction or a signal. Our analysis is always retrospective. As always, past results cannot guarantee future results; if you want an edge, there's always Microsoft Edge.
- We don’t make expected value the focus. It has a place in statistical analysis, but you do not need it to see that the odds are stacked against players.
While we wait for a genuine statistical surprise, we hope the observations and stories give you good company and entertainment and you pick up some useful Maths.
